New Snowing Song - Malk It

I was nervous when I saw that Snowing had posted a new song. I had convinced myself they were going to pull a Grown Ups, that their new release would be missing the energy that made Fuck Your Emotional Bullshit so good. When it first started it seems less noodly for sure. It reminds me of the Promise Ring with a really jangly up-beat guitar riff with John's signature strained voice singing over it. Than 30 seconds in it goes into a really straight forward shout along part that really captures the energy of this band. It's is probably one of my favorite parts of any Snowing song, which is real odd cause of how simple it is. The last 50 seconds brings a really open section with some chords strummed and a little melodic guitar riff played in the back while the drums pummel out a fairly standard pattern in this genre and John singing an undeniable hook. I'm glad Snowing didn't disappoint me and I'm totally stoked on their upcoming release.

Unmixed/Unmasterd Mix of 'Malk It'

Oriana Raeo

This is some seriously fantastic screamo. These guys remind me ALOT of Raein or suis la lune, which is by no means a bad thing. Its not chaotic but it has so much melody and passion. Plus they had the CD up for a free download to begin with (which is always awesome). Definitely give these guys a listen cause I'm loving it.

Pansori - Sumemr Demo '10

Our band got to play our last show ever with these guys and girl and I couldn't have been happier to be playing it with them. Seeing them live was awe-inspiring it was one of the best concerts I have seen. Talking and meeting these people gave me even more respect for them as they are the nicest/funniest/most wonderful people you could ever want to meet. I loved eighthundredyearsofsilence, but these three new songs are beyond anything I've ever heard and is by far the most impressive music I've heard this year and perhaps ever.

La Dispute/Touche Amore split

Ive been looking forward to this split for awhile and im sooo happy its here! Im more of a touche fan but both sides are fantastic. TA's side is a little more melodic than there other stuff and the guest vocals by La dispute's Jordan are really great. Overall the songs are very dramatic and very epic. This split is quite the treat so I really recomend it!

Pansori

These guys feauture ex-members of a whole bunch of Baltimore bands. They play really epic post-rock infused screamo that is very remianscent of City of Caterpillar and Portrait thanks to their inclusion of the violin. From about 8:00 to 11:00 is some of the most climatic and moving music I've ever heard. They are going on a summer tour and need help booking dates!!

We Had A Deal

We Had A Deal is a German hardcore/screamo band and they definitely hold their own. There's a lot to enjoy. They have lots of intensity but keep the music interesting. They don't sacrifice musicality for heaviness. Plus, I have a lot of appreciation for any band that asks us to put up their music so please be supportive and give these guys a listen.

Get Bent

These dudes were really awesome Latterman styled punk from New York. I got to see them at Berea fest III before they broke up and they were super rad. Both they're demo and EP are both terribly catchy.

King Guava

I was contacted by a member of this band to put up their demo(which is super awesome) and I've got to say that it is definitely some of the most original music I have listened to in a while. It has folk instrumentation with a hardcore style and its really refreshing. You would certainly be missing out if you don't download this.

Van Johnson

Got to appreciate someone who screams in his underpants. Van Johnson is a 5 piece Hardcore/screamo band from Canada. These guys manage to be be very heavy while still having some really cool and melodic parts. I had a hard time finding their music so i hope this helps someone. enjoy!

American Football + The One Up Downstairs

In light of a possible Cap'n Jazz tour I was going to post them put they're already uploaded soooooo I'll post my favorite post-Cap'n Jazz band and hope that they really do tour!

American Football's Full Length

American Football's EP

The One Up Downstairs

MeAndGoliath

Another UK Screamo band but they definitely have their own sound and style. I was surprised to learn that they are a 3-piece, especially since the music has a lot going on. The thing that really sticks in my head about these guys is the way they piece all their parts together and create some really tremendous songs. They have a split with grave...shovel? lets go that i will eventually put up.

I Would Set Myself On Fire For You

Okay now I admit to be a total sucker for bands with any sort of string instrument (viola etc...) but these guys do it the best and definitely get the most recognition for it, along with maybe Portrait, maybe I'll just post bands with such instruments for the awhile, but enough on this tangent. IWSMOFF created probably the greatest CD of all time with ...Believes in Patterns and also had a self-titled CD and an unreleased 7"....Believes in Patterns is music as art in its highest form, they blend several genres without any of it seeming forced or pretentious (Between the Buried and Me should take a clue). The Song 11 was sadly never "officially" released and is one of their strongest songs too. I'd rather see these guys make a new CD instead of Circle Takes the Square or any other band ever releasing a new CD

Song 11

...Believes in Patterns

Self-Titled (I swearI'll upload this just not tonight!!)

2 New Merchant Ship Songs!

Hoo-Rah for this band getting back together and now recording two new songs that both sound awesome!! The first song is the usual Merchant Ships sounding a ton like Make Me while the other song is alot more screamo-ish and way less emo-ish...if that makes any sense.

Awesome two new tracks Dwag!

Hop Along, Queen Ansleis

Hop Along, Queen Ansleis is practically Frances Quinlan's solo project, however she has added some people to it making it a "band". Imagine an awesome hybrid of The Cranberries, Elliot Smith, and Paul Baribeau and you have a general idea of what she sounds like. Her voice wavers just like The Cranberries singer while some of the arrangements remind me of Elliot Smith, but most importantly there's a sense of honesty in her voice that reminds me of Paul Baribeau. This is quickly becoming my soundtrack to the winter.
